Complementary Methods of Health and Healing
In recent years it seems that more and more people are turning to complementary methods of health and healing. Yes, we seem to be a curious bunch… looking for natural ways to heal mind, body and spirit.
Many times it takes a health crisis of some sort that causes us to seek out complementary/alternative methods of healing. Not to say that a health crisis is a bad thing, it’s really what we make of it and the energy/power that we give it. A health crisis can be a true blessing in disguise, a wake up call. It’s your body’s way of trying to repair itself and eliminate toxins. It is also a signal that it is time to change something, whether that change be environmental, dietary, exercise, reducing stress or spiritual changes, change is needed nonetheless. A health crisis happens as a result of a departure from healthy living, which in turn causes your body to be out of harmony with nature’s laws.
What most people don’t realize is that prevention is the best “cure”. How many times were you told as a child that an “ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”? Is this not true? If we just incorporated more complementary/alternative health methods into our lives, we could all be in optimal health until our passing. Under normal conditions the body is a self-sustaining organism. Unfortunately, most people don’t seek out natural ways of health until they are going through that health crisis that was mentioned above.
There are many great and effective complementary methods of health and healing. To name a few…
Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Hypnosis, Mental Training, Reiki Healings, Quantum Touch, Acupressure, Therapeutic Massage, and the list goes on….
It seems that two of the main reasons that people are seeking complementary/alternative methods of healing are that they are tired of taking medications that treat the symptoms and not the cause of the illness, and, more often than not, medications have unpleasant side effects. With complementary/ alternative methods of healing there are no adverse side effects and the methods are non-invasive.
The underlying principle of complementary health methods is to treat the whole person and the cause of illness, not just the symptoms. It is medically proven that once balance is restored within the body, it will automatically heal itself.
And it is in closing that I ask this question…
Isn’t it truly your goal to live as vibrantly as you can?
